What is hot rap mix about?
Brandyn Nolen aka BranNuYu has been promoting Positive/Inspirational/Gospel Rap since he heard the Inspirational Rap Hip Hop artist LitaRodi back in 2008 while he was in High School. He had for a short time in High School listened to what he calls "worldly music" (content or lyrics that promotes/approves/celebrates a sinful lifestyle). Mainly because of confusion about "Christian Liberties", he liked the beats, and the vocals sounded cool. He knew the message was bad though. He was convicted by God about the music, knowing that he needed to renew his mind and think better thoughts, so he gave it up. He deleted his music (most of it illegally obtained from friends who shared their own cds for him to rip to the computer). Because he realized that there was better positive music that went hard for Jesus, and could even impact a cold hard thug when he heard LitaRodi This Is For Them. He realized he shouldn't try to fit in or conform to the world (Romans 12:2). He realized that gangsters could feel God's presence if they were to hear rappers like LitaRodi. He wanted to do whatever he could do to listen to more music like it, and share it to the people who desperately needed to hear the message and testimony of ex-you name it's. His church Youth Group (People who knew LitaRodi) introduced him to other artists like Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, and Flame. BranNuYu heard Flame Our World Redeemed in the van on the way to Discovery Camp in Columbus Texas. He later bought the cd album at Lifeway Christian Store, plus a Mr Del Hope Dealer cd. From there, his collection grew as he searched artists on iTunes. Plus he listened to music on Myspace, and checked out Top Friends of his favorite artists. The collection of music kept growing. Brandyn wanted to share his newfound discovery of clean jams to the world, because he knew most of his peers were jamming worldly music. He wanted to be part of the movement to get people on to something better and more positive, and to lead people to his Savior/Lord Jesus Christ. He started making his own beats with FL Studio. He attended Texas Bible Institute, where he had gone for Discovery Camp a year or two prior. He started rapping over his own beats, as well as downloaded instrumentals. He got with people from bible school to rap in the dorms to work on mixtape style songs. He later met Joe Angel Esquivel (Joe Angel Music) and Augustine Rivera (AJs Dope Beats).
